I have been practicing psychotherapy since 1981. A large part of what keeps me fresh and alive as a psychotherapist is a lifelong love of learning and my commitment to my own psychotherapy and ongoing training. My style is warm, engaged, and straightforward.
You may be looking for a therapist because you are struggling, in pain, and stuck. You are trying to “work on it” yourself, but things are just not changing. You may be searching to understand more about yourself, but don’t know how to go about it. I can help. I believe no one should have to struggle with unbearable feelings on their own. I believe in the healing power of relationship and connection.
Successful psychotherapy can help you:
*heal from past hurts
*reduce anxiety and depression
*increase self acceptance and self compassion
*improve the quality of your connection to yourself and others
*improve your overall vitality and connection to your meaning and purpose in life
I have lived in Austin since 1965. When I am not working, I am playing with my dogs, gardening, doing yoga, reading fiction, musing, and making a variety of mixed media art.

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all.
